Sporty Chat is a bimonthly interactive session with renowned professionals working in the sports domain. Sporty Chat is organized by the sports management students of Sports & Management Research Institute (SMRI) with the objective of creating awareness about the sports industry. Entry to Sporty Chat sessions are free subject to availability of seats. Seats can be reserved in advance.

India's first fans-owned football club TRAVANCORE ROYALS is getting ready at the SportUp (Sports Startup) facility of Sports & Management Research Institute (SMRI). The club is developed and designed by the Sports Management students of SMRI.
SMRI invites sports loving students and public with engineering acumen to participate in DESI 2018 with innovative, low cost DESI sporting machine designs or prototype or final product. The product should be a low cost one. It is not compulsory that the product is new to the world. You can copy the model of an existing product, but the improved product should be ‘economical’ to our sports ecosystem. Improvement in existing design, innovation to reduce the production cost etc. will also be considered.
JFC Malappuram (Janakeeya Football Club, Malappuram), the first fans-owned football club of Malabar will be inaugurated on October 28, 2018 at Kondotty, Malappuram. The function will be inaugurated by Sri T V Ibrahim MLA. This club will be owned by its fans, just like world’s bigger football clubs like Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich, SL Benfica and Borussia Dortmund.
